Brad Paisley joined President Obama for an unannounced trip to Afghanistan, performing a surprise concert for troops stationed at Bagram Airfield on Sunday.
The country star flew overnight on Air Force One before playing an acoustic set for thousands of appreciative soldiers on the eve of Memorial Day.
On stage, Paisley called the show “the honor of my life.”
He later tweeted a picture with service members, captioning it, “A hillbilly with heroes” (see below).
Paisley also posted a short video from Afghanistan (see below), remarking, “This is Memorial Day Weekend. God bless our troops.”
After returning on Air Force One, the performer snapped a picture (see below), writing, “God bless America, home safe. Thanks for the lift BO. Our military is the best the world has ever seen.”
