TIM TEBOW: Huddling With Hollywood?

(Photo: Reuters)

Tim Tebow may finally be getting off the bench -- to appear in a big-budget, Christian-themed movie.

The quarterback, who has had trouble getting into the groove in the NFL, has been offered a role by the production team behind the faith-based hit Crossroad. The filmmakers sent the outspokenly Christian Tebow a letter that reads, in part, "You have been a great idol for so many by your display of courage and strong faith. You are an inspiration to so many on the field and off, and I'm sure your passion will also come through in films."

Tebow is signed to the New York Jets, but he seems to have plenty of free time on his hands these days should he want to take the gig.

Though currently the show is going through a turbulent period in the aftermath of Ann Curry's departure and its ratings slip to ABC rival Good Morning America, Lauer, 55, was set to jump ship to ABC last year, when reports surfaced that Ryan Seacrest was possibly going to replace him on Today, reports New York magazine, in the issue hitting newsstands Monday.
