Amanda Bynes might have some mental issues, but schizophrenia isn't one of them. At least not according to her lawyer.
Legal eagle Tamar Arminak reached out to People magazine "to dispel certain rumors" about the former actress, who was hospitalized and placed under the conservatorship of her mother last year after an apparent mental breakdown. Tamar says, “For the record, Amanda does not have schizophrenia, nor has she ever been diagnosed with it.” He adds that she is "currently is on zero medication" and that "she’s never had a history of abusing alcohol or hard drugs, and she’s proud to say she’s been marijuana-free for the past nine months."
In fact her mom, Lynn Bynes, tells E! News that all of her daughter's bizarre behavior was caused by smoking pot. Lynn adds that Amanda "is very sorry for all the hurtful tweets, statements and actions that occurred while she was under the influence of marijuana."
Amanda is now living with her parents and studying fashion. Tamar says she's doing "extremely well" and "hopes to one day design her own line."
