On April 30, 2013 I took Livi in for her 5 year old check up.  She had been complaining about hip pain, and I had also noticed some abnormal bruising. I mentioned all of this to her doctor, and after lab work, he immediately sent us to Scottish Rite Emergency Department where we were met by an oncologist.  After more rigorous testing, we received unthinkable news, our Livi girl so full of life and energy had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  Since our first week in the hospital, we have known that Livi would do great things because of what she had endured fighting Leukemia.  She has fought Leukemia head on and with such grace and dignity. We are so proud of her. She will go through treatment a total of about 26 months. We are almost at our one year mark.
