Kobe Bryant was one of the greatest NBA players in history with five NBA championships, 18-time All-Star, 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, 12-time member of the All-Defensive Team, was named the 2008 NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), and was a two-time NBA Finals MVP. He became superman, a hero, and a mentor for basketball player for many generations to come.
The death of Kobe Bryant was shocking to us all, but it's his spirit and legacy that's keeps him alive. This video is a perfect example, when a high school player with #24 hit the buzzer beater shot, while the crowd chants "Kobe, Kobe, Kobe".
Seeing his legacy shine on after his tragic death, this past weekend, helps fans, family, and friends all smile at the thought of what he accomplished. Only 41 years on this Earth, and he did more than most could do in 5 lifetimes. Not just on the court but as a philanthropist, friend and Dad. He worked to make the World a better place anyway he could.
It's for all of these reasons, young bball players will continue to shout his name when they hit the game winning shot, my generation will continue to shout "Kobe" anytime they shoot crumpled paper into a trash can, or people will wear his number to maybe catch a small glimpse of his magic.
