Terrible Hit-And-Run Caught On ATL Intersection Cam

When a car going the wrong way hits another head on, the driver flees on foot, but is taken down by a good Samaritan and his JiuJitsu training.

At the Buckhead intersection of Peachtree and Stratford roads, a speeding 16-year-old was traveling down the wrong side of the road. Brittney Lopez tried making a turn and didn't see the oncoming car. “This car was coming straight at me, and he didn’t even bother to break,” Lopez told WSB-2.That's when she was hit head on, in a violent crash. It was all caught on video, and the teen driver is seen getting out and running from the scene.

Thankfully, Lopez escaped with minor injuries, and the suspect was caught less than a block away. An onlooker grabbed him and got him into a JiuJitsu hold move, until police could arrive.

3 construction workers nearby chased the suspect down, who was driving his mother's SUV. “I saw the guy get out of the car and start running,” said Tristen Hall to WSB-2. His co-worker Chaz Albrecht used his skills to subdue the teen and make sure he was arrested.

Lopez said she is forever grateful for the kind people that helped out. She was leaving work when it happened and now fears she will lose her job because her car is totaled. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help her out.
