Redneck Engineering: Cows With VR Goggles Producing More Milk

Who knew cows would be so into Virtual Reality? A farmer in Turkey is using WR goggles to trick the cows into thinking they are in warm, sunny weather with beautiful green pastures.

Harsh winters and bad weather can really affect a cow's milk production, so farmers are getting creative to move the milk a little better. Cattle breeder and rancher, Izzet Kocak, tested out the use of virtual reality headsets to see if cows responded. He did trials in Moscow before moving to Turkey and he's seen some pretty awesome success. He put on a mode where the cows see green, beautiful pastures, and a warm day.

According to a report by The Sun, the cows output of 22 liters shot up to 27 liters with the use of the goggles. “They are watching a green pasture and it gives them an emotional boost,” said Kocak. He is going to try out more cows on the headset soon, as he just bought 10 more.

I'd guess this makes Mark Zuckerberg moist. He can't wait until we all live in a virtual, fake world.

I think he should experiment with the world. Maybe try the cows out at a Country music concert... or see if they mate more when you put on a Channing Tatum movie. Just a thought!
