Proud UGA Bulldogs fan Governor Kemp said, "We'll make sure fans are able to tailgate! Even if it's at the state Capitol!!"
SoFi Stadium announced yesterday fans will not be able to tailgate near the field. Parking is limited so they will not be allowing any drinking, partying, or hanging out in the parking lots before, during, or after the College Football National Championship game on Monday. Georgia will take on TCU in a hunt for back-2-back Championships. The TCU Horned Frogs will be looking for their first national championship since 1938.
Georgia's governor is very outspoken about his love for college football and in particular the Dawgs. He tweeted about the "no tailgating policy" and said, "While California may not know this, in the South a tailgate with friends & family is the only way to prepare for a big game." He called out SoFi and the state of California for not knowing how we roll in the South.
Kemp also promised we'd do it different when the Natty comes to Mercedes-Benz Staduim in 2025 tweeting, "When Georgia hosts the 2025 #NationalChampionship , we'll make sure fans are able to tailgate! Even if it's at the state Capitol!!"
UGA is favored by 13 in the game but don't count out the underdogs who are now on only a tiny list of teams who weren't ranked in the pre-season and made it to the big dance. They were underdogs in the game against Michigan and got a lot of hate about not being worthy of even that bowl game, but proved they came to win.
Stetson Bennett brings his Dawgs for the second straight Natty making him only 1 of 3 QB's to do so. Only Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence have done it in recent past. GO DAWGS!!
