About Furkids
Furkids, based in Georgia, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operating the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in the Southeast for rescued cats, as well as Sadie’s Place, a no-kill shelter for dogs. They are also one of the few facilities in the Southeast that care for FIV-positive cats.
Since its founding in 2002, Furkids has rescued and altered more than 65,000 animals, with approximately 1,000 animals currently in their care—across shelters, 8 PetSmart and Petco adoption centers, and over 400 foster homes throughout the Atlanta area.
Furkids’ mission is to rescue homeless animals, provide top-tier medical care and a nurturing environment, and find them loving forever homes. They focus on healing both the body and spirit of each animal.
Furkids also stands out as the only animal rescue in metro Atlanta that welcomes volunteers of all ages, creating unique opportunities for kids and families to bond with and care for animals in need.
