Forsyth Central High School Kids Helping The Exceptional

In today’s world where there seems to be a shortage in acceptance and kindness, some local students in Forsyth County are doing their part to change it.

All this week, Forsyth Central High School DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) is hosting a week to celebrate exceptional students, teachers, and special education programs at the school.

The goal of The Greatest Gift Week is to advocate for the acceptance for all students regardless of their exceptionalities and they are doing this by promoting awareness of a different exceptionality each day this week and spending time getting to know exceptional students through various sensory activities during the school day throughout the week.

Monday was dedicated to Autism Spectrum Disorder awareness.

Tuesday they educated students about others with Specific Learning Disabilities.

Wednesday is dedicated to Orthopedic Impairments.

Thursday will raise awareness for Severe and Profound Intellectual Disabilities.

They will wrap up the week with a Christmas and Holiday Social, bringing exceptional students and general education students together to build relationships and celebrate the holidays. All of these kids will make Christmas ornaments, decorate cookies, play games, and get to know one another.

You can find out more about these awesome kids by visiting the Forsyth Central HS Facebook.
