Masks not required for fully vaxed students, staff in UGA system

This fall, students and staff returning to the University of Georgia System campuses will no longer have to wear masks, if they have been fully vaccinated.

The USG put out new guidance for the upcoming Fall 2021 semester that says "fully vaccinated staff and students will not be required to wear a mask while in class or at other activities." If students and staffers have not been vaccinated by the fall, they will still be "strongly encouraged to continue wearing their masks inside."

The athletic departments will follow guidance from the SEC conference.

Also, fully vaccinated persons won't have to socially distance anymore as well. Again, those who are not vaccinated are encouraged to stay 6-feet away from other individuals.
