Shania Twain is a queen of country music, and of eye-popping looks. The “Man! I Feel Like A Woman” star reflected on her most iconic fashion moments with Bustle. Twain is photographed on the September cover and Entertainment issue, the outlet announced on Wednesday (September 28). Twain shared a clip from her interview with Bustle on Instagram, highlighting some of the most memorable things about her “That Don’t Impress Me Much” music video look:

“This video is probably one of the greatest learning experiences I’ve ever had making a video, and working with the clothes designer on the fashion, how I was going to move in the clothes. I needed it to be stretch. I love leopard print, so we agreed on stretch velvet, leopard print fabric, and bejeweled it with a lot of red, ruby red. So, I wanted the lips to be matching ruby red. And this is the first video that I ever wore a wig. So that was really fun. That’s a little — in case you thought it was my real hair, it’s not!”

Twain has previously paid tribute to the fashion in that iconic ‘90s music video, crediting fashion designer Marc Bouwer with the idea to add the leopard-print hood and calling it “just gorgeous and an iconic look.”

Twain also reflected on her jaw-dropping performance with Harry Styles at Coachella earlier this year, and revealed in a clip shared on TikTok that the two icons didn’t plan to coordinate:

“I mean, this is one of my greatest highlights ever because I’m on stage with Harry Styles, and we are singing ‘Main! I Feel Like A Woman,’ and we look like we matched fashion beforehand, but we didn’t I did ask him before, I said, ‘what are you wearing?’ You know, like anyone would. ‘So, Harry, what are you going to wear?’ And he never got back to me with the final look. And I picked this one out and it was perfect with Harry! And I really just love this little throwback. It’s kind of Mick Jagger-ish. So we were on the same page in every way.”

Most recently, Twain debuted her new single and music video, “Waking Up Dreaming,” as she kicks off a new era of music. She said when she released it earlier this month that she “can’t wait to see you guys replicate these looks... you know I had to give you some more outfit inspo.”
