Riley Green spoke about his recent acting debut — and whether he would take on new roles — on the red carpet at the 2026 iHeartCountry Festival presented by Capital One.
Green, 37, plays former Navy SEAL Garrett on Marshals, a Yellowstone spinoff series that sees Luke Grimes reviving his role as Kayce Dutton. The new Western drama focuses on Grimes’ character as he “leaves the Yellowstone ranch to work with an elite U.S. Marshals team,” per IMDb. The cast also includes Logan Marshall-Green, Gil Birmingham, Brecken Merrill, Ash Santos, Arielle Kebbel and others. Green also debuted the new song “My Way” in his acting debut. He said of the experience:
“There’s a level of performance in what we do on stage, but I’m always playing myself. So, for me to try to get out of that headspace and go and kind of be vulnerable — and my character, Garrett, is a former Navy SEAL with extreme PTSD, which is a pretty serious topic. It’s something you want to get right. So, it was a completely different world for me to try to jump into, but it’s something I really enjoyed.”
“I hope so. Yeah. I have really enjoyed it,” Green said when asked whether he would continue acting.
Green hinted that “it is true that I might be doing some acting,” during a press event earlier this year in Nashville, Tennessee. Though he didn’t confirm his then-unannounced debut role, Green acknowledged weeks before the announcement, “it’s something that I’ve been interested in for a while, and obviously been talked about for little bit. …You know, you look at what shows like Yellowstone have done for the Western lifestyle… It’s definitely something I’m interested in, and we may or may not see something like that.”
Marshals airs on Sundays from 8 to 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. It’s also available live and on-demand on Paramount+ for premium subscribers, and on-demand for Paramount+ subscribers the day after the episode airs, according to CBS.
Luke Bryan, Kane Brown, Parker McCollum, Riley Green, Carly Pearce, Shaboozey, Dylan Scott, Russell Dickerson, Gretchen Wilson, Chase Matthew and Lauren Alaina, plus special guest George Birge, made up the star-studded lineup of the 2026 iHeartCountry Festival. It was all hosted again by iHeartRadio’s Bobby Bones.
The 2026 iHeartCountry Festival is streaming live on Disney+ and Hulu. If you missed the show (or just want to relive the experience), you can replay the festival for 23 hours on Sunday (May 3) only on Hulu.
