Mom Chastised For Giving Child Chocolate Cake

This Kindergarten Teacher Took Away Their Student's Chocolate Cake and Shamed the Child's Mother

An Australian mom sent a slice of chocolate cake to school with her 3-year-old to school in the lunch bag. The school has a "Red Food Category," which encompasses unhealthy foods "that may contain excess energy (kilojoules), saturated fat, added sugar and/or salt." The list also includes sodas and deep-fried foods and is part of a full set of nutrition guidelines that all schools follow in Australia. The teacher sent home a note that has blown up on social media.
