Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris, Amanda Shires, and Natalie Hemby are Country Music's new supergroup...and the first video from The Highwomen's debut album out and causing a buzz!
In a Rolling Stone article about the band Maren Morris said, “I think a lot of people on my team probably thought I was insane to join a band right in the middle of my own album cycle and tour, but when Brandi called to ask me if I wanted to be a Highwoman, and that these were going to be the people involved, I couldn’t say no. I’ve also been touting the same message with Girl; it’s high time for more female perspectives in the country genre.”
An impressive list of women appear in the video including:
Wynonna Judd
Kassi Ashton (Meisenheimer)
Raelynn
Cassadee Pope
Lauren Alaina
Natalie Stavall
Hailey Whitters
Anna Vaus
Catie Offerman
Tanya Tucker
CAM
Lily Hyatt
Erin Rae
Their debut self-titled album also includes Sheryl Crow on vocals, with Miranda Lambert, Lori McKenna, and others writing a few songs. It's available September 6th.
