Kelly Clarkson has spent months publicly going through a nasty divorce from Brandon Blackstock. So it was a little shocking to hear that she has actually been living with him during her summer vacation. But you have to have respect for why she did it.
Kelly decided to spend the summer break with Brandon so she could be with her kids. In a Today interview, Kelly shared that she, Brandon and the kids spent the summer together on the Montana ranch they once shared.
"The kids were with me and with their dad. It was nice because they usually have to travel a lot because of our separation, so we were both in Montana so, it was the first time I think my kids felt more centered as well. It’s obviously been a rough couple years so it was really important to me to, like, shut down for a minute."
Kelly has made it very clear that this breakup, separation and divorce have been draining and difficult. But she and Brandon are clearly putting their differences aside for their family and giving their children the stability they need to feel loved and supported. Now that the kids are back in school, Kelly is back at home with them in California.
The Kelly Clarkson Show returns on September 13th and get ready, she promises there will be a total "overhaul" when new shows hit the air.
