Garth Brooks may have won Entertainer of the Year at the CMA Awards on Wednesday night, but folks weren’t too happy with him. In case you missed it, fans were furious that Garth actually lip-synced his performance of “Ask Me How I Know,” and took to social media to voice their displeasure.
But Garth quickly owned up to not singing live and he had a good excuse. He says he has been sick and that his voice was shot from performing so many shows last weekend. “We made a game-time call on whether to sing to a track or lip-sync," Garth told reporters backstage. "And we decided to lip-sync it. My voice just isn't going anywhere, and we wanted to represent country music the best we can.”
Hopefully, Garth was able to get his voice back. He has SEVEN concerts scheduled in Spokane, Washington this weekend.
Rising country star Anderson East took to social media to express his disappointment:
