A disturbing video is going viral of a teacher's arrest after raising objections to a superintendent’s pay raise.
During the public comment period of a school board meeting, Vermilion Parish, Louisiana teacher Deyshia Hargrave questioned why the school administrator was being given a raise when, as class sizes balloon and teachers help students meet goals, it is the superintendent who gets the compensation instead of those who are on the front lines and are fighting to maintain their wage levels.
She was called on by the board to speak, but then forcibly removed and later jailed.
The ACLU is backing the teacher and says the expulsion from the meeting was unacceptable.
