The “Billboard” Hot 100 is feeling a little country these days! Right now there are two country artists sitting in the Top Ten! This might now seem like a big deal, but it's huge! And it hasn't happened in nine years!
Florida Georgia Line and Bebe Rexha’s “Meant to Be” has jumped up to number five this week. Plus, “The Middle,” Maren Morris’ collaboration with Zedd and Grey, is at number eight, making it Maren’s first all-genre Top Ten hit.
The last time two country acts were in the top ten at the same time was back in April 2009, when Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis’ “American Idol” performance of “I Told You So” was at number nine. In addition, the last time two country artists were in the Hot 100 at the same time with different songs was back in 2000, when Faith Hill’s“Breathe” was at three and Lonestar’s “Amazed” was at ten. That was 18 years ago!
If you're unfamiliar with either of these songs, take a listen below and enjoy!
