After a confession was released from a journal by Brian Laundrie, now a Florida judge is allowing her parents to sue Brian Laundrie's parents.

Brian Laundrie was accused of murdering his girlfriend Gabby during an RV roadtrip in 2021. The story made headline news across the world, as investigators searched for her body. Then Brian went missing. Both were found dead in the wilderness in separate states.

Just yesterday Brian Laundrie's parents released a journal that had a full confession by Brian on how he ended the life of his girlfriend Gabby. He talked about strangling her to stop her suffering. "I ended her life, I thought it was merciful, that it is what she wanted but I see now all the mistakes I made. I panicked, I was in shock. But from the moment I decided, took away her pain, I knew I couldn’t go on without her," Laundrie wrote. He claims she had fallen and hit her head and was suffering so much that she was begging him to end it.

He then goes on to describe how he felt like his punishment was to end his own life, because he couldn't go on without her. He wrote, “I have killed myself by this creek in the hopes that animals may tear me apart. That it may make some of her family happy.”

Gabby's parents Nichole Schmidt, 41, and former husband Joseph Petito, 42, went to court to get approval for suing the Laundries for statements made during Gabby's search that caused more pain and suffering.

A Judge in Florida approved the lawsuit saying Laundrie's attorney, Steven Bertolino, made 'objectively outrageous' about Gabby being found alive, when he knew otherwise. The couple is seeking $30,000 in damages against Christopher, 63, and Roberta Laundrie, 56.

Judge Hunter Carroll wrote in his decision, "the court concluded the Plantiff's (Petito's) have shown causes of actions for intentional infliction of emotional distress against the Laundries".

This is an incredibly sad story all the way around and it is disgusting that even in his death, Brian Laundrie tried taking blame off of himself. There is evidence that refute his statements and with the body camera footage showing abuse in their relationship, it's really hard to believe that he is truthful in the journal. I guess their was only one person he had to atone to for his murder and I'd guess God wasn't buying it.

I hope the Petito's can get some peace and rest from this over time. It's just absolutely tragic all the way around. RIP Gabby.
