Luke Combs is out on the road singing his new single “When It Rains It Pours” to fans on The Devil Don’t Sleep tour with Brantley Gilbert and Tyler Farr, and he’s rolling into show stop after show stop on a tour bus.
That might not seem like a big deal for a music star to have a bus to ride in going to shows…but Luke remembers a show just a couple of years ago where he arrived to perform at a show, and his mode of transportation was much different.
“I actually played a show one time in North Carolina. It was me and Chris Young and Brett Eldridge. At the time, it was 2 or 3 years ago. It was the first weekend in Nashville but I had booked it before I knew that I was going to move. So I had to move to Nashville then I had to drive all the way like 10 hours back passed Raleigh. They had a spot for my bus in the parking lot and it was in the middle of Chris’s two buses and Brett’s bus. And I just pulled my little Dodge Neon right in the middle of both of those buses. And I got out and I said ‘Man, it is what it is. I’ll have a bus one day. So I took a lot of pride driving that little care around because it definitely gave me something to strive towards.”
Since then he’s traded that Dodge Neon for a 2017 King Ranch F250 when he’s not on tour, and a little big ride for when he is.
