Florida Georgia Line has helped Retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Shane Savage regain some of his independence. Savage lost his leg when he drove over an IED in Afghanistan, and has faced some challenges with his wheelchair.
Well, in case you missed it FGL teamed with The Independence Fund to gift Savage with a track chair, which has improved his ability to get around. “It keeps him up and out, because he does not like being trapped in the house,” Savage’s daughter Ameliea told FOX & Friends. It’s just wonderful because we have land and we have horses and now he can go out and experience that with us.”
FGL presented Savage with the chair during one of their concerts. “It was an emotional experience to have that type of opportunity to be able to participate in something of that nature,” Savage says. “To be able to represent my fellow amputees and fellow veterans and to be able to do it on national TV is just such an honor to be able to do.”
