Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake are not new to joining forces, first collaborating for a CMA Awards performance in 2015 and now Chris will be teaming up with JT for a song on the new Timberlake album, Man of the Woods.
The song title has yet to be announced that Chris will be collaborating on, but the album drops February 2nd, debuting two days before Timberlake will headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show in Minneapolis.
Chris and Timberlake are more than just collaborators, they’re also longtime friends having bonded over fatherhood and music. “We met through mutual friends,” Chris told Billboard at the time of their CMA Awards performance. “When his wife was pregnant, we talked about some things about being a dad. We talk about dad stuff and regular life stuff — and we talk about music a lot, too. And we always check in on each other.”
