Hillary Scott Discusses Difficult Pregnancy

Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott is showing off her twin baby girls in this week’s “People” magazine.

Before becoming pregnant with Betsy Mack and Emory JoAnn, Hillary had suffered a miscarriage so she tells the magazine she and hubby Chris Tyrrell were worried about when to announce the happy news of her pregnancy.

"We were taking it a week at a time. ‘When are we going to announce this news?’ Because I wasn’t sure,” Hillary, who’s also mom to four-and-a-half-year-old Eisele, says. “I’m like, ‘With Eisele, I carried a certain way. With twins, I mean, I might look five months pregnant by 12 weeks. Who knows?’”

Hillary says there were times when being pregnant with twins was “actually easier than with Eisele,” but it certainly wasn’t easy. “You [definitely have] double the fatigue,” she says. “I was sick in the beginning and it was always right around showtime so I had to take anti-nausea medicine that my doctor prescribed me, which thank the Lord for that stuff.”

Hillary calls the babies “a double blessing from the Lord,” and admits she was “emotional” when she discovered it was twins after losing a baby. “It was emotional, because I’m like, ‘Oh, we’re going to have as many babies in our house as I hoped we would have,’” she shares. "'It just isn’t in the same timing that I thought it was going to be, but we are going to have our three.’”
