Some folks may think Carly Pearce and Kelsea Ballerini see each other as competition, since they are both women trying to make it in country music, and that was almost the case.
Carly says they first met when they “were in a girl group through ASCAP,” and it was just after Kelsea had signed her record deal, which made Carly a little jealous. In fact, Carly had just lost a record deal and became quite emotional a their first meeting and started sobbing, which is when Kelsea gave Carly her number. She adds, “we stayed in touch, and that led to just this sisterhood that has grown.”
In the end, Carly notes, “I think that we all want to see each other succeed because when one of us succeeds it’s all of us succeeding.”
