Brandi Carlile To Receive Impact Award At CMT's Next Women Of Country Event

Brandi Carlile will be honored with the Impact Award at the upcoming 2019 CMT Next Women Of Country event on November 12 in Nashville.

This award is presented to a country female for "outstanding achievements and contributions to women in the industry." Carlile is the fourth artist to receive this award joining previous winners including Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini and Brandy Clark.

This past year Carlile debuted her all-female country superstar group, The Highwomen, which also includes Morris, Natalie Hemby and Amanda Shires. Additionally, she co-produced Tanya Tucker's While I'm Livin' album, took home three Grammys for her By The Way, I Forgive You and helped organized an all-female lineup at the 2019 Newport Folk Festival.

"Not only is she one of the greatest performers of our time, she’s an incredible advocate and champion for her fellow female artists, lending her support and starpower to up-and-coming artists in the genre,” says Leslie Fram, senior vice president of music strategy and talent for CMT. "We are truly thrilled to celebrate her monumental achievements, both as a solo artist, producer and as a member of the groundbreaking group The Highwomen, with this Impact Award."

CMT's Next Women of Country event started in 2013 as an effort to support and expose developing female talent in the male dominated genre. As a result, the emerging women who are part of the program have their music broadcast on CMT platforms, digital series and tours.

The seventh annual celebration will be co-hosted by Martina McBride and CMT's Fram. It will take place at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum's CMA Theater on Tuesday (November 12), just one day ahead of the 53rd Annual CMA Awards on November 13.
