Disney Introduces First Gay Character In "Beauty And The Beast"

One of the most anticipated movies of the year, Walt Disney's real life adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast," will feature the first gay character in Disney history.

The director Bill Condon told a British gay magazine called Attitude, "LeFou is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston." I totally pegged the candle stick. Apparently, I was wrong.

He's the goofy sidekick to the film's primary villain, Gaston. He said he didn't want to give away the end, but that "(the payoff) is a nice, exclusively gay moment in a Disney movie."

I call B.S.! I'm not completely convinced Jafar didn't swing that way. I mean he was REALLY consumed with Aladdin and that outfit?! Just sayin'

How do you feel about the new twist?

I'm ok with a gay character. It's something that's a hot topic right now, and it's progressive thinking for a major company. Some young child who struggles with acceptance, could benefit from such a character being in a Disney movie.

It doesn't take away from the brilliance of the story.
