“Heartbroken. I owe him everything I am, and everything I ever will be,” Ashley Campbell, daughter of the late Glen Campbell, posted to Instagram. “He will be remembered so well and with so much love.”
You can hear the pain in her words. We're all feeling the great loss of Glen Campbell and what he gave to the world in his 81 years. 70 albums and over 50 years of entertaining. He passed away from Alzheimer’s after battling it for several years. His legacy will live forever though.
His family posted a statement Tuesday just hours after his passing. “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and legendary singer and guitarist, Glen Travis Campbell,” they wrote on Glen’s website. “Glen is survived by his wife, Kim Campbell of Nashville; their three children, Cal, Shannon and Ashley; his children from previous marriages, Debby, Kelli, Travis, Kane, and Dillon; 10 grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren; sisters Barbara, Sandra, and Jane; and brothers John Wallace ‘Shorty’ and Gerald.”
