Man Shot In The Leg In Vegas Mass Shooting, Stands For Trump Visit

Thomas Gunderson was one of the more than 500 people wounded in the mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas. He was badly injured in his leg by a bullet, but when President Trump and 1st Lady Melania Trump came to visit him... he stood up!

Gunderson said, "I will never lie down when the President of this great country comes to shake my hand! There may be plenty of issues in this country but I will always respect my country, my president and my flag. Shot in the leg or not, I will stand to show my President the respect he deserves!"

Both Melania and President Trump asked him to sit but the man had enough respect for his country that he couldn't.

What an amazing display of patriotism and strength. Even after enduring such a tragic event, it was important for him to be respectful and honor his country. Regardless of how you feel about who is President, I've always been raised to respect the office. There have been several in my lifetime I may not have voted for, but I trusted in their leadership to further the country that I love.

I pray this man heals fast and gets back to 100%. He is a great example of how America should treat each other. I truly believe in the creed "United We Stand, Divided We Fall".
