At least five people are dead, according to CNN, after a United States military C-130 Cargo plane crashed outside of Savannah, Georgia Wednesday.
According to Fox News, state officials confirmed “multiple fatalities” after the Puerto Rico National Guard WC-130 plane crashed shortly after 11:30am during takeoff.
“The National Guard plane was bound for Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona when it went down, Air Force officials confirmed to Fox News. The wreckage was seen at the intersection of Highway 21 and Crossgate Road, officials said,” writes Fox.
“There has been a plane crash at the intersection of Hwy 21 at Crossgate Rd. Roads will be shut down. Please avoid the area,” tweeted local authorities.
It remains unclear what actually brought down the aircraft.
