Jacob Koscinski graduated this weekend with the highest honors for his home based schooling. He got the coveted Summa Cum Laude tassle. The Publix Cake decorating system turned things awkward fast.
His mother Cara ordered the cake via their online ordering system and it flagged "Cum" as profanity and deleted it from the order. So the cake they received said "Summa --- Laude". That's a whole different kind of honor, I think.
She shared it in a Facebook post and was angry she spent $70 for the cake to be wrongly censored. She wrote, "He earned a 4.79 GPA. Publix refused to write the words Summa Cum Laude because I was using ‘profanity!’ They put three dashes instead of the word! How utterly ridiculous and I will be speaking to a manager for a refund. "
I am laughing hysterically about this cake! HEADS UP, if you are ordering any cakes in Cumming, GA, I'd skip the online system. Haha. Hope no one needs a going away cake for an employee of Cumming Eye Clinic!
