As a young boy, Dontez Byrd told his mom in a letter that he would do whatever it took to be an NFL player one day. He just made that dream come true with the Atlanta Falcons.
Byrd played at the University of Louisville and transferred to finish out at Tennessee Tech. He never got signed coming out of college to pro but didn't let the dream die, he showed up to walk on at the Atlanta Falcon's camp and just got his first NFL contract. (Thefalcoholic)
Byrd shared a the letter he wrote to his mom on Twitter when he was very young. It talked about a seminar that sparked his dream to create his "legacy". He said he wanted his to be "someone who went against all odds and accomplished what he was put on this Earth to do". He promised his mother he'd one day make his "dreams of playing professional football" come true..... And he just did!!
The Falcons organization shared the letter on Twitter and wrote, "Keep working to live out those dreams".
What an amazing story of speaking your dreams into existence and how hard work and perseverance can make them come true!!
Dontez just became my new favorite Falcons player!! I hope her shines out there on the field this season!
