A Canadian teen joins the ranks on the #MoronMonday lists after getting scammed out of money for a fake ID, so he calls the police. Dumb for so many reasons.
An unidentified teen in Canada was so angry that he fell for scam that he called police to let them know someone stole his money. This is a horrible idea when you are doing something illegal in the first place.
Constable Ed Sanchuk, of the Ontario Provincial Police, shared a video on twitter warning of the stupidity of such an idea. It's dumb on many levels, as Sanchuk mentions that the victim not only lost his money, but shared personal information over the internet to someone he doesn't even know. Now that person is untraceable and has enough info to steal his real identity.
Mr Sanchuk told parents to have a talk with their teens and how this action could put him in a position of “potential identity theft issues down the road”. No word on if the teen will face any charges for attempting to illegal get the ID.
