Taylor Swift said in a surprise post that, "Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen." It's her 8th studio album out tonight!
Swift has been rather quite on social media recently, but it seem it's because she was working up a big surprise for fans. She announced her newest album will be called "Folklore". She wrote, "Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine."
She said this was one of the easiest albums to decide on when to release it. "Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much", she wrote on along with the album cover with whimsical artwork done by artist Beth Garrabrant. ♥️
Taylor also blessed us with the tack listing on twitter. She wrote, "folklore will have 16 songs on the standard edition, but the physical deluxe editions will include a bonus track “the lakes.” Because this is my 8th studio album, I made 8 deluxe CDs & 8 deluxe vinyls available for 1 week. Taylor Swift still remains as one of the most genuine, and sweetest artists I've ever met in my radio career. She's a megastar, but still treats her fans and radio family with the utmost respect and love. I've had the privilege of meeting her and her mother 4 times and every time, they where humble and grateful for the people who've helped mold her career. No matter how massive she's gotten. I credit her upbringing by her parents, and her start in music in country.
Country artists always pay respects to their roots and never forget them as they rise. That is true for almost every country artists I've encountered over the years as well. Taylor has never forgotten her roots.
