As we all prep for the Big game on Sunday, there are several players and coaches have links to Georgia that will be apart of the Super Bowl.

Here is the break down between teams and how they link to Georgia:

RAMS

  • Rams head coach Sean McVay was a quarterback for Marist High School and was the 4A offensive player of the year over former Georgia Tech star Calvin Johnson. He led Marist to a state title in 2003.
  • Matthew Stafford, the Rams starting quarterback, will appear in his first Super Bowl in his 13-year career. This is the former University of Georgia quarterback’s first season with the Rams after being traded from Detroit. No. 1 overall pick in 2009. Stafford started 34 games for Georgia from 2006-2008. He won a Sugar Bowl over Hawaii in the 2007 season and was on a team that began the 2008 as preseason No. 1, but never reached the SEC championship game, won a national title or reached the BCS championship game
  • Ernest Jones, a linebacker for the Rams, has Georgia ties as he played for the Ware County Gators in high school before playing college football with South Carolina.
  • Two other former Bulldogs will suit up for the Rams in the big game: running back Sony Michel and linebacker Leonard Floyd. Michel starred for the Bulldogs from 2014-2017 and is best remembered for his Rose Bowl-winning touchdown over Oklahoma in overtime in 2017.

  • Offensive Lineman D’Ante Smith is an Augusta native and played high school football for Grovetown

Further proof that GA football is some of the best in the world! Gonna be an awesome game.

I pick Rams by 7. But don't take my advice.... I'm terrible when it comes to betting and winning.
