Woodstock, Georgia Native Bryce Leatherwood Wins "The Voice"

From singing in church to the stage at MadLife, to the world stage with Blake Shelton, Bryce Leatherwood made Georgia proud on "The Voice".

After the dust settled with some amazing performances from the Top 5 on "The Voice" finale this week, Bryce Leatherwood was the last man standing and crowned this seasons winner!

Leatherwood is from Woodstock, Georgia but currently lives in Statesboro, Georgia. He’s gotten his experience on stage performing in the college bar scene all over Georgia. He's currently finishing up a degree at Georgia Southern University in business and hopes to eventually manage his own music career.

Leatherwood came through with jaw-dropping moments all season. This week he preformed Keith Whitley's "Don't Close Your Eyes" that left his coach Blake Shelton in tears:

Then he brought the house down on stage with his idol, Shelton, by performing "Hillbilly Bone".

Blake said of Bryce, "I threw him to the wolves and made him sing for his chance to stay on the show.... from that moment on, he created his own ground swell." Leatherwood said he was the first to ever come back from the wildcard and win.

Bryce said, "it just incredible to be from such humble beginnings and having this dream of an idea... next thing you know you're the voice Champion. It's wild!"

This gives Blake Shelton his 9th victory on his finale season of "The Voice".

Not many people that win "The Voice" have a full career and hit the big time, but I have a feeling Bryce will be someone to watch and we'll see explode in Country Music.

We talked to his Youth Group leader on the show today (listen below) and will be chatting with Bryce on Friday at 7:10am.
