9-year-old Bella Fricker from Alpharetta loves American Girl dolls so much that she’s put together a collection of 12 that live in a giant dollhouse her parents and brothers built for her.
A few months ago, Bella noticed a special doll in her American Girl toy catalog that didn’t have hair and learned that these dolls are made for girls who have lost their hair going through chemotherapy.
Inspired to give the special dolls to cancer patients, Bella started making and selling bracelets called Peace Love Bracelets for about $3 to $6 each – and then buying dolls to donate.
So far, she’s been able to give away three of the special $100 dolls and continues to work hard to raise more money.
The girls who have received the dolls are thrilled to play with dolls that look just like them, and Bella says the experience has been awesome because it makes her feel good about herself to help somebody else.
