Southern University football player, Devon Gales, has been considered an honorary Dawg ever since he was injured while playing UGA in September 2015. Devon’s injury during that football game has left him paralyzed and depending on a wheelchair to get around. He and his family are in need of a home that can accommodate Devon’s wheelchair. The family was working with an organization to get a new home but the organization has pulled out. That’s where the UGA community is stepping in. UGA announced over the weekend that the school has kicked off its own fundraising campaign to build Devon a handicapped-accessible home.
