An Ohio bus driver made an unscheduled stop … that wound up saving a woman’s life.
Damone Hudson was driving his bus over the Main Street Bridge in downtown Dayton when he noticed a woman standing on other side of the safety railing, looking like she was going to jump.
Surveillance video shows him pulling the bus over to the side of the road, opening the door and urging the woman to step back from the ledge.
He then said, "Ma'am, you look like you're having a bad day, you know. Can I give you a hug?”
Hudson continued to talk to the woman, while motioning for a person passing by to call police. He continued to talk to her and console her until police arrived and she came back over the railing.
"I just knew I needed to talk to her," Hudson said. "I wasn't trying to be heroic. I just saw someone that looked like she was definitely in pain or trouble and I just wanted to make a connection. Everyone's going through something. Even if you are, just reach out and try to touch someone, even if it's in a small way," he said. (WHIO)
