I just got back from a family trip to Croatia. I'd never been there and didn't really know what to expect, but I feel in love with it!!!
We started in Zagreb. It's the capital of Croatia and the biggest city in the country. It is also where my ancestors are from. The few days we were there it was pretty rainy and a little cold. Most people would probably say it was bleak, but I thought it was beautiful. I feel like I got a better feeling of how it would've been when my relatives were growing up.

Our next stop was Plitvice Lakes National Park. It was GORGEOUS. It was full of tourists but totally worth the hassle.

While in Croatia we rented a car and while driving from city to city, we go to see some amazing views!

We couldn't go to Croatia and not go to Dubrovnik (or for you Game of Thrones Fans, Kings Landings).

Of all the towns we visited I think Split was my favorite. It had the same feel as Dubrovnik, but a lot less tourists.
Swimming in the Adriatic Sea should be on everyone's bucket list!!!

Overall I think Croatia is the best place I've ever visited. The views are breathtaking, the people are so nice and the food is incredible (think fresh seafood with Italian influences). Pretty much everyone speaks English and were very helpful. We stayed in different AirBnBs (6 in all) and I would recommend doing the same. You get to see how the people there actually live plus you can find really nice places for relatively cheap.
