It’s been three weeks since Hurricane Maria slammed into Puerto Rico, devastating the island. Now thousands of residents stranded on the island are in dire need of medical treatment, including eight-month-old Sebastian.
The infant suffers from congestive heart failure and needs surgery to save his life. So this week when a private jet donated by an anonymous billionaire arrived to bring sick people back to the mainland for treatment, Sebastian was among the patients on the flight out.
The flight was organized by disaster relief charity PALS (Patient Airlift Services) and the plane arrived packed with supplies, generators, and other essentials and left with six patients headed for New Jersey for medical treatment. Baby Sebastian’s mom was overcome with emotion that her son was being rescued and can get the surgery he needs.
