When a woman in need of a specific toy truck for her special needs brother reached out to Reddit with her request, social media really made it happen. "My brother, Max, is 25 years old and mentally about a five year old," she writes. "He's mentally and physically disabled and the only thing he wants for Christmas is a Blue Police Hummer truck, made in 2000."
She goes on to say that she gets him the same truck every year but can’t find one this year because they’ve bought every single one on eBay for the last 17 years. A Redditor found one on eBay and bought it to send it to her, but then Tonka, who makes the truck, found out and swooped in to save the day.
"We hope to be able to send them as many as we can find as well as a giant Tonka care package," the company writes on Facebook. "Giving is the true spirit of Christmas, and we would not be where we are today without our fans and customers. We live to give back whenever we have the opportunity to do so. This story touches our hearts and we hope to make this special fan's Christmas extra special!"
