Every year, Charlie Kline and his mom go bargain shopping for holiday trinkets at the Goodwill outlet in Salem, Oregon. And this year while shopping, the man came across a micro SD card hidden at the bottom of one of the bins.
When Kline discovered the card had family photos of a newborn baby, he felt it was his mission to find the rightful owner. And after searching for less than 24 hours, he located her. Melissa Cortez lost the card when she lost her phone a year and a half ago and she was delighted to get those photos back after all this time.
“I thought it was gone forever,” Cortez says. “You don’t know how much it means. We don’t have a lot in life, but what we have is precious.”
