When Matt and Kelli Cameron of Tampa, Florida, got married last month, friends and family members showed up to celebrate the couple.
But instead of showing up at the wedding with gifts in hand, the guests had backpacks full of school supplies that would be donated to local kids in need.
While planning the wedding, Matt and Kelli realized that they didn’t really need anything. But Kelli -- who’s been a teacher for seven years -- did realize that some students in the area could be helped in a big way with donated supplies.
So, she sent out a description of needed items to her guests so everyone knew what they were buying and what grade they were buying for.
The ceremony and party were a huge success. But the impact of the night will live on as around 70 children will be receiving supplies to get started off right when the school year begins.
