15 year old Taryn Everdeen sent a letter to her favorite author Carolyn Meyer. Carol writes young adult novels. The two became became instant friends and decided to co-write a book together.
Carolyn was surprised how creative Taryn is after she watched some YouTube videos Taryn posted. They came up with an idea for a time travel book about a kid in modern day America and a girl in 16th century England.
Carolyn invited Taryn to stay with her for the summer and be her sort of mentor. Taryn’s parents agreed. Taryn is now 18 and Carolyn is 84. They just finished the book and Carolyn is pitching it to her publisher. Carolyn said this is probably the last book she’ll ever write so she feels as though she’s passing the torch. Her career is ending as Taryn’s is beginning.
