Man Refuses To Turn Himself In Until "He Gets A Costume"

A wanted man in Illinois has turned himself in, but it took some Photoshop skills to convince him to do so.

The Sheriff’s Department posted pictures of fugitives on its Facebook page last Wednesday, asking for the public's help with locating them. One of the pictures was of 25-year-old Brandon Conti, who was wanted for failing to appear in court on a DUI charge.

Conti was clearly in the Halloween spirit because he commented, "Where's My Costume?" The department was quick to answer with a revised photo of him wearing a sailor's costume and wrote, "Done! We held up our end of the bargain. Now, you do the right thing and ‘Sail’ yourself on in here and turn yourself in. Or, call us, and we’d be happy to provide you transportation.”

Conti responded with laughing face emojis and wrote, "I’ll be there before noon please have the paperwork done and ready.” Police say he has turned himself in.

But you know…more and more police departments have been able to use social media to find fugitives. And it’s great when everybody has a sense of humor. He better hope the judge does! And I can’t not point out that it was an appropriate costume for someone caught drinking like a sailor.
