Shon Boulden owns two strip clubs in Portland, Oregon and both were deemed "non-essential" during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Boulden decided to change the game by offering "Drive Thru Food 2 Go-Go," a service that offered to go with the entertainment of the club. Boulden had a line around the block and interest hasn't slowed at all. When you enter the parking lot, there is a tent, sealed off that allows one car in to get their food. A local events company offered to build out the set up, including a DJ booth.
Here’s how the drive-thru works: You pay $30 to enter and can order any food item off the menu. Once inside the tent, you’re treated to a full show, from a group of dancers, wearing masks. After a couple songs, the dancers accept payment and tips. There are tip buckets set up inside, and the dancers even have grabbers that allow them to collect tips from a safe distance.
It has also allowed Boulden to keep his employees working through this down economy.
