If you wondered how essential the liquor stores have been to society, all you have to do is consider the last three months! With lockdowns, closures and quarantines covering the landscape, it’s no wonder the spirit industry saw a HUGE spike in sales Drizly and Forbes took a look at the numbers, and came up the most popular spirits during lockdown.
They were:
- Tito’s Vodka
- Casamigos Tequila
- Bulleit Bourbon
- Jameson Irish Whiskey
- Jack Daniels Whiskey
- Espolon Tequila
- Don Julio Tequila
- Patron Tequila
- Johnny Walker Scotch
- Smirnoff Vodka
To put it in perspective, the owner of Minibar Delivery said her company received a Tito’s order “every five minutes” during that three-month period. But this is cool, Tito’s was solid on the philanthropy tip. They donated over $2-million to help out-of-work bar and restaurant employees and were able to re-purpose their facilities to get more hand sanitizer out in the marketplace.
