Three Officers Are Recuperating After a Deadly Shootout In Carroll County

It appears the officers will all make a full recovery even though a deadly shoot out left one suspect dead. Carrollton officer Rob Holloway, Villa Rica officer Chase Gordy and Carroll County Deputy Jay Repetto are recovering at local hospitals. What happened? Police say a vehicle traveling over 100 mph was driving early in the morning on Monday. During the chase, the suspects allegedly began shooting at the responding officers. One suspect was seen hanging out of the window while firing a rifle. “At some point he leaned out the window and fired rounds into the officer’s vehicle striking Sgt. Rob Holloway, who at that point, the other officers stopped because he hit a pole. He was flown to the hospital where he’s undergoing surgery right now,” said Carrolton Police Chief Joel Richards.

Aaron Shelton, of Alabama, was taken into custody. His cousin, Pier Shelton, was killed in a shootout with the officers.

A GoFundMe has been started for one of the officers.
