President Biden is moving to require roughly 100 million Americans to get vaccinated against the coronavirus, including federal employees, health care workers and some private sector staff. At the time of this report, 53% of the US is has received the COVID vaccine. The plan details that employers with 100 or more employees will have to make the vaccine mandatory.
In a report with CBS in December, then President-Elect Joe Biden said he "would not make the vaccine mandatory." (That video is linked below and you can hear his direct quote at 1:55) Now, just nine months later, Biden has changed his course. “We’ve been patient. But our patience is wearing thin, and your refusal has cost all of us,” he said, all but biting off his words. The unvaccinated minority “can cause a lot of damage, and they are.” Biden said.
